Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the ancient art of creating a diagnosis based on signs and symptoms. By inserting fine needles into the body at particular points to alleviate symptoms and improve the patient’s constitution, it can prevent symptoms from returning. It works by bringing the body back into balance chemically and energetically.

Regular acupuncture can help you get back into balance and stay in harmony with the cycles of nature, from seasonal changes causing allergies, trouble sleeping, fatigue, anxiety and depression, to digestive troubles, migraine and headaches, muscle aches and pains, and more.

Bodywork

During your treatment, I may practice Reiki, Shiatsu, Tuina, or Yin Tuina bodywork. These are different types of bodywork, or “hands on the body work,” that can assist your body, mind and spirit back to health.  I also often use moxibustion, cupping, and guasha in combination with the acupuncture.

Reiki is a type of energy work through specific placing of the hands that promotes health and healing. Shiatsu is a type of bodywork that uses pressing to clear the channels of blockages.  Tuina is a type of bodywork that is used for healing and unlocking tight or knotted areas. Yin Tuina gently promotes alignment of the meridians.

Herbal Medicine

The Chinese Materia Medica has been studied and prescribed to treat many health problems throughout Asia for centuries. Many ancient formulas created by physician-scholars are still in use today around the world.

These herbs and minerals are a natural way to treat all health concerns. They bring the body into harmony by nourishing, tonifying, moving energy and fluids and reducing excess.  The herbal formulas support the whole person in creating health rather than merely treating a symptom. They are complex molecules capable of producing   health  and vitality.
